The Kia EV6 GT has been crowned as the 2023 World Performance Car at the 2023 World Car Awards.

At the 2023 World Car Awards, the Kia EV6 GT has been declared the winner of the 2023 World Performance Car award, triumphing over the conventionally powered Nissan Z and Toyota GR Corolla. The EV6 GT was selected from a list of eight entries from around the globe. According to Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia, this recognition from the World Car Awards judges is a significant honor, affirming their strategy of creating exceptional vehicles that offer practicality, innovation, technology, and design. The decision was made by a panel of 100 esteemed international automotive journalists from 32 countries who evaluated each eligible vehicle through a secret ballot as part of their professional duties.

The Kia EV6 GT, built on the E-GMP platform, boasts a dual-motor setup with 585bhp and 740Nm of torque in its most powerful form, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 260kmph, thanks to its 77.4kWh battery. In addition to the standard EV6, the GT version also features improved brakes, a reinforced body, optimized steering response, and GT-mode buttons, among other enhancements.
