Tesla has issued a recall for 422 vehicles in the United States due to a potential suspension issue that could increase the risk of a crash

Tesla is taking action to address a potential safety concern in 422 vehicles in the US. The issue involves the lateral link fasteners on certain 2018 and 2019 models, which could cause the lateral link to separate from the sub-frame and impact wheel alignment, leading to instability and an increased risk of accidents. To mitigate this issue, Tesla will either tighten or replace the fasteners. While there have been 25 warranty claims and two field reports that may be related to the recall, there have been no reported crashes or injuries. This recall is an expansion of a 2021 recall for the same issue that affected nearly 2,800 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles from 2019 to 2021, following 39 service repairs that found loose or missing lateral link fasteners.
