Chinese automaker, Geely launches Panda EV

Panda EV is all set to be a cost-effective urban solution

Let’s get to know Geely a bit before Panda EV. Along with Geely Auto as a brand, it is the parent firm of Volvo Cars, Lotus Cars, London Electric Vehicle Company, and Qianjiang Motorcycles. China is the brand’s main market, and it is one of the oldest automobile manufacturers worldwide.

China has a market for little electric cars that are mostly marketed to city dwellers. In China, vehicles like the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV and MG Air frequently top the sales rankings. These vehicles tend to be cutesy and toy-like in many respects, which ideally appeals to the target market. New Geely Panda EV Geely has recently unveiled its new Panda Mini EV through its subsidiary brand Genome with an eye on that market. 

The Geely Panda Mini EV makes an effort to appear as adorable as a panda. In that sense, our outside design is quite toy-like. Its front and rear bumper designs with black inserts that resemble the black patches beneath a Panda’s eyes are tributes to pandas. A little rectangular opening allows air to enter to cool the batteries. The remaining front fascia is blocked off. Around the headlamp are round LED DRLs, and between them is a cutout with the Genome logo that is probably the entrance to its charging setup. Additionally, it develops darkened ORVMs that resemble panda ears. The mentions of pandas don’t end there. Alloy wheel hubs have a polish that resembles panda paws.

Features & Specs: It has two doors for entry and exit and four seats. The dominant elements of the pink dashboard are a sizable infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster. Other amenities include a tactile climate control button, a panoramic sunroof, and more. It is 1.5 meters wide and somewhat more than 3 meters long. The Panda Mini EV measures 2.01 meters in length and 1.6 meters in height. According to reports, it has a Guoxuan High-Tech lithium-ferrous-phosphate battery. Speaking about driving distance, anticipate a single charge to provide roughly 150 km of range. This little car should be able to move with a motor that has 40 horsepower (30 kW).
